What I did when I got the cable was to run the CD drivers that came with my cable. I was getting the installation messages and as soon as the MTP message came up, I got the "problem" message and it didn't sync. (I also have the Verizon Essentials program that I downloaded, but I like WMP better. I, like others decided to just buy a USB cable for my VX9900 and use Windows Media Player for sync'ing.
